The Universal Black Brass Snare Drum features a 1mm brass shell to deliver a rich dynamic range – suitable for various tuning ranges and head combinations. This shell is fitted with chrome triple-flanged hoops. These hoops offer a sharper attack and cut in more aggressive playing styles with a loud crisp and clear rimshot and cross-stick sound. What about the hardware? The Ludwig Universal Black Brass Snare Drums are fitted with heavy-duty tube lugs a P88i throw-off a P35 butt plate and 20-strand snare wires.
