JustDrums are excited to introduce the Mapex Armory 20″ Fusion Acoustic Shell Pack in Red Onyx Burst by Drum Kits Drum Kit . Ready to be delivered to any location in the UK.

The Mapex Armory Series 5 Piece 20″ Fusion Shell Pack in Red Onyx Burst delivers a powerful, modern drum sound with a striking high gloss finish. Blending birch and maple in a hybrid shell construction, this kit offers fast attack, rich low-end and excellent projection, making it a superb choice for gigging drummers and studio work alike. With SONIClear bearing edges, upgraded Remo heads and a matching Armory Tomahawk snare, it is designed to sound great straight out of the box and respond effortlessly to your playing.

At the heart of the Armory concept is Mapex Hybrid Technology, combining the focus and punch of birch with the warmth and musicality of maple. The result is a versatile tonal palette that works across rock, pop, funk and beyond, with each drum tuning easily and holding its pitch. The SONIClear bearing edges and suspension mounts ensure the heads seat perfectly and the shells resonate freely, so you get more tone with less effort.

Visually, the Red Onyx Burst finish with olivewood outer veneers and high gloss lacquer gives the kit a premium, boutique look on stage or in the studio. Practical touches such as low mass lugs, insulated bass drum claws and SONIClear floor tom feet keep the hardware quiet and supportive, enhancing sustain and clarity. The included TH676 double tom holder with memory locks makes set-up consistent and reliable from gig to gig.

Completing the package is the Armory Tomahawk snare drum, voiced to cut through the mix with crisp articulation and plenty of body. Paired with the Remo UC double-ply clear batter head upgrade, this shell pack is ready to deliver a polished, professional sound without needing immediate head changes or extensive tweaking.

Hybrid Birch/Maple Shells

The M.H.T (Mapex Hybrid Technology) 6-ply birch/maple/birch shells combine the attack and clarity of birch with the warmth and depth of maple. This fusion gives you a punchy, focused sound that still has plenty of low-end body, ideal for live performance and recording where you need definition and musicality in equal measure.

SONIClear Bearing Edges and Mounts

SONIClear bearing edges allow the drumhead to sit perfectly flat on the shell, improving tuning ease, consistency and overall tone. Paired with SONIClear suspension mounts and floor tom feet, the shells are allowed to resonate more freely, giving you better sustain, a wider tuning range and a more open, expressive sound.

Premium Red Onyx Burst Finish

The high gloss lacquer over olivewood outer veneers in Red Onyx Burst provides a stunning visual statement. This premium finish not only looks impressive under stage lights but also highlights the natural grain of the wood, giving the kit a high-end, boutique aesthetic that matches its professional sound.

Gig-Ready Hardware and Head Upgrade

With low mass nutboxes, insulated bass drum claws and the TH676 double tom holder with a new memory lock design, the hardware is built for stability, reliability and minimal shell interference. The Remo UC double-ply clear batter head upgrade delivers a controlled, punchy response and durability, so the kit is ready for rehearsals, gigs and sessions straight away.

Drum Kits

Drum kits are the core of modern drumming, bringing together bass drum, snare, toms, cymbals, and hardware into a single playable instrument. A complete kit allows a drummer to cover rhythm, dynamics, and texture, forming the foundation of a band’s groove in styles ranging from rock and pop to jazz, metal, funk, and electronic-influenced music.

Drum kits come in many configurations and materials, including compact setups for small spaces, standard five-piece kits, and larger multi-tom arrangements. Shell materials such as maple, birch, mahogany, and hybrid constructions each influence tone, projection, and response. Acoustic kits are chosen for their natural feel and sound, while electronic and hybrid kits offer volume control, sound flexibility, and integration with modern music production.

Choosing a drum kit involves balancing sound, size, hardware quality, and playing style. Whether for practice, recording, or live performance, a well-matched drum kit provides consistent tuning, comfortable ergonomics, and a musical response that supports the drummer and the music they play.

A drum kit brings together multiple drums and cymbals to create a single playable instrument that drives rhythm and structure in music. Each part of the kit works together to provide pulse, dynamics, accents, and movement, allowing the drummer to shape groove, timing, and energy. A well-matched drum kit supports consistent playing, clear musical expression, and the ability to adapt to different styles and performance settings.
