Description

Pearl Drum Kits

The Pearl Export is a benchmark name in drumming and has been for 40 years, with various versions and upgrades over the years. The latest model is the best so far, with the latest shell technology and modern hardware. The current Export comes with a blend of woods in the shells and Sabian cymbals to offer the most at its price point. Featuring 6-ply poplar and Asian mahogany shells for a crisp, warm tone which complements a range of drumming styles. The Export is designed for beginner and intermediate drummers and includes a Pearl 834 series hardware pack, and a Sabian SBR cymbal set.

Poplar/Mahogany Shells

The Pearl Export features high-quality 6-ply 7.5mm poplar/Asian mahogany blended shells, with chrome hardware. The shells offer a crisp, warm tone which is extremely versatile and well suited to a range of drumming styles and genres. Export EXX drums also integrate Pearl’s Opti-Loc suspension system which uses a three-way attachment design, consisting of rubber isolators at three points across the drum, offering maximum sustain and resonance without the inconvenience of wobbling during your performance.

Pearl HWP-834 Hardware Set

Pearl Export EXX Drums include Pearl’s unbeatable 834 series chrome hardware, providing everything musicians need to get the most out of their drums. A P-930 Bass Drum Pedal features a single-chain drive mechanism, with a Demon-style Power shifter longboard and an interchangeable cam for maximum adjustment over your pedal response and feel. The two BC-830 Boom Cymbal Stands are reliable, durable stands with an infinitely adjustable uni-lock tilter for customisable cymbal angles and positioning. A H-830 Hi-Hat Stand provides a great foundation for your hi-hats, whilst the included S-830 Snare Drum Stand offers superb balance and stability for your snare drum throughout your time playing. Perfect for drummers who don’t have a full hardware setup already, the Pearl Export EXX Hardware offers a high-quality, versatile foundation which can be easily customised to suit you best.

Sabian SBR Cymbal Performance Set

The Sabian SBR Cymbal Performance Set which consists of 14” hi-hats, a 16” crash and a 20” ride. The cymbals deliver a clean, bright sound with a great projection, making them suitable for any genre from jazz to rock and even metal. Ideal for beginner and intermediate drummers, the Sabian SBR Cymbals are the perfect complement to the Pearl Export.

How will my drums be delivered?

All starter drum kits are delivered in the smallest number of boxes. They will be packed inside one another and will need assembling. Starter kits are always delivered without the heads & hoops attached. This isn’t something to be intimidated by, it’s the basics of drum assembly, and is good practice to get a better understanding of your new kit!

The heads will then need to be tightened and tuned. Using the drum key provided, rotate all the lugs clockwise to tighten, and anti-clockwise to loosen – simple! If you need further help with drum tuning you can read our guide *here* . 

Once the drum heads are attached, you’re ready to set up! You may want to have a look at our set up guide here or check out our unboxing video on YouTube (this is of a Pearl Roadshow but all starter kits will be the same process) for more help. Just make sure the stands are at the right height, and the kit is comfortable to play.

Top tips to remember:

  • Protect your ears
  • A left-handed drummer will set up the kit the opposite way
  • Add a pillow to your bass drum if it’s too boomy
  • Bass drums & pedals have spikes – so you may need a rug to protect your floor
