Alesis

Alesis is a well-known electronic instrument and audio brand with a strong presence in electronic drums, drum machines, and digital percussion. The company is particularly recognised for making electronic drum kits that are accessible, feature-rich, and well suited to beginners, home practice, and project studios.

Alesis electronic drum kits are popular for offering large playing surfaces, mesh heads, and versatile sound modules at competitive prices. They are widely used for quiet practice, learning, songwriting, and recording, making them a common choice for drummers who need flexibility without the space or volume of an acoustic kit.

Alongside electronic drums, Alesis has a long history in drum machines, MIDI controllers, and studio equipment, which influences the design of their modern e-drum systems. For drummers looking for an affordable and capable entry into electronic drumming, Alesis remains a widely trusted and practical brand.

Cymbals

Cymbals add accents, timekeeping, colour and dynamics to a drum setup. This category includes hi-hats, rides, crashes, splashes, Chinas and packs, each with different sizes, weights, profiles, alloys, hammering and finishes. Compare stick definition, wash, sustain, response, volume and how the cymbal will blend with the kit and musical style. A cymbal’s sound also depends on mounting and playing technique. Check the exact type and diameter, and remember that cymbal stands, bags and felts may need to be purchased separately.
