This is the CZ2 18″ Crash Cymbal by Gear4music from Gear4Music, available in the Cymbals category here on Just Drums. Read More below.
The CZ2 18″ Crash Cymbal is a striking and distinct cymbal with two different lathed finishes contributing to an instrument of exceptional sound quality – its medium weight and full bodied penetrating response produces a clean even sustain with added clout for more aggressive and powerful accents.
Crash cymbals are used for accents, transitions and larger musical statements, with tone shaped by diameter, weight, profile, alloy, hammering, lathing and finish. Smaller or thinner crashes may open quickly and decay sooner, while larger or heavier models can provide more projection and sustain. Some crash-rides offer a broader role with a usable ride area. Compare the cymbal’s intended style, volume, stick response and blend with the existing kit, and check whether the listing is for one cymbal or part of a pack.
Cymbals add accents, timekeeping, colour and dynamics to a drum setup. This category includes hi-hats, rides, crashes, splashes, Chinas and packs, each with different sizes, weights, profiles, alloys, hammering and finishes. Compare stick definition, wash, sustain, response, volume and how the cymbal will blend with the kit and musical style. A cymbal’s sound also depends on mounting and playing technique. Check the exact type and diameter, and remember that cymbal stands, bags and felts may need to be purchased separately.
Crash identifies a cymbal used for accents and transitions. Compare diameter, weight, projection, sustain, response and whether the model also works as a crash-ride.
