Description

The Digital Drums 550 Electronic Drum Kit is the latest addition to the 500 series. Built with ease of access and flexibility in mind the kit offers an enhanced drumming experience with all-new features never before seen in the Digital Drum Range. Broaden rhythmic possibilities via the inclusion of a second crash and fourth tom. Other improvements for the all-mesh kit include a genuine hi-hat stand and an upgrade to 10″ across all dual zone drum pads. Featuring well over 300 authentic fully customisable drum sounds the DD550 allows you to assemble 10 of your own user-defined kits for personal use. Alternatively the inclusion of 15 pre-defined kits means you can jump right in and start playing straight after set-up. Unlock a whole new world of drum tones by using the DD550 as a MIDI controller when connected to your computer. This allows you to utilise third-party sample libraries for production and performance purposes. This bundle comes complete with a set of headphones and drum throne.

Drums

Drums are the rhythmic backbone of modern music, providing pulse, energy, and structure across countless styles and genres. From acoustic drum kits and marching drums to hand percussion and electronic systems, drums are designed to be played physically and expressively, responding directly to touch, technique, and dynamics.

Acoustic drums are built from shells, heads, and hardware that work together to shape tone, volume, and sustain. Different sizes, materials, and tunings allow drummers to create sounds ranging from deep and powerful to tight and articulate. Electronic drums expand this further by offering volume control, sound variety, and integration with recording and digital music systems.

Drums are used in live performance, recording, education, and practice, making them one of the most versatile instrument families in music. Whether played softly or with force, alone or as part of a full band, drums play a central role in driving rhythm, supporting musicians, and shaping the feel of a piece of music.
