The Roadshow series from Pearl really offers new drummers a comprehensive starter kit and lifts the standards for starter kits. As you can hear from the video the drums sound bigger than their price tags. The roadshow series has multiple configurations with different sizes of drums. There are also multiple colours to pick from to suit your preference. Unique selling point of this kit is the cymbals it comes with. Here’s What Pearl Say

Roadshow drum shells are formed from six plies of bonded Asian White Poplar to deliver optimum tonal power for the rising student drummer. The included hardware package is second to none in its class. To withstand the pounding onslaught of the heavy hitting beginner, all lugs and fittings are sturdy and robust. Stands are completely adjustable and dual-reinforced.

The primary voice of the total Roadshow drum set is the Snare Drum. The snare drum included with each Roadshow kit delivers crisp sensitivity at the lightest touch and responds with powerful, belting tone at every striking level.

To round out the complete drum set package for the drummer on the rise, Roadshow’s come complete with Sabian Solar cymbals. Exceptional for the early learning phase, Solar cymbals are a great place-holder for basic time keeping, ride patterns, and crashing accents.

How will my drums be delivered?

All starter drum kits are delivered in the smallest number of boxes. They will be packed inside one another and will need assembling. Starter kits are always delivered without the heads & hoops attached. This isn’t something to be intimidated by, it’s the basics of drum assembly, and is good practice to get a better understanding of your new kit!

The heads will then need to be tightened and tuned. Using the drum key provided, rotate all the lugs clockwise to tighten, and anti-clockwise to loosen – simple! If you need further help with drum tuning, you can read our online guides or watch our unboxing video above.

Once the drumheads are attached, you’re ready to set up! You may want to have a look at our set up guide or check out our unboxing video on YouTube. You can hear from the video that the stock heads on the kit sound great and the floor tom sounds lovely and full. Just make sure the stands are at the right height, and the kit is comfortable to play.

Top tips to remember:

  • Protect your ears with hearing protection
  • Add a pillow to your bass drum if it’s too ‘boomy’
  • Kits, Single Kick pedals and Double Kick pedals have spikes – so you may need a rug to protect your floor!

Drum Kits

Drum kits are the core of modern drumming, bringing together bass drum, snare, toms, cymbals, and hardware into a single playable instrument. A complete kit allows a drummer to cover rhythm, dynamics, and texture, forming the foundation of a band’s groove in styles ranging from rock and pop to jazz, metal, funk, and electronic-influenced music.

Drum kits come in many configurations and materials, including compact setups for small spaces, standard five-piece kits, and larger multi-tom arrangements. Shell materials such as maple, birch, mahogany, and hybrid constructions each influence tone, projection, and response. Acoustic kits are chosen for their natural feel and sound, while electronic and hybrid kits offer volume control, sound flexibility, and integration with modern music production.

Choosing a drum kit involves balancing sound, size, hardware quality, and playing style. Whether for practice, recording, or live performance, a well-matched drum kit provides consistent tuning, comfortable ergonomics, and a musical response that supports the drummer and the music they play.
