Description

Small, light and quick to fit the Protection Racket bass drum muffler, with double sided Velcro for attachment to the bass drum, helps EQ bass drums in live and studio situations.

Why do I need a muffler?

Bass drums are designed to throw out big volume live on stage but in the studio, or for quieter environments, a little muffling is a great idea. Give your sound engineer an easier time by properly setting up your kit. Pillows, blankets and even spare gig bags might do in a pinch but its not very rock and roll to spend time hunting around in the studio for something to stuff in the drum. This muffler will give you predictable results session after session.

Bass Drums

Bass drums, also called kick drums, provide the low-frequency pulse of an acoustic kit. Compare diameter and depth, shell material, hoops, heads, spurs, mountings and compatibility with the intended pedal or kit. A standalone bass drum may be used to expand a kit, replace an existing shell or build a customised setup, while a kit listing may include one as part of a larger configuration. The shell size affects projection and feel, but head choice, tuning, damping and playing technique also shape the final sound.

Drums

Drums is the main JustDrums category for core acoustic and electronic instruments, including kits, shell packs, snare drums, bass drums, toms and electronic drum kits. Compare the complete configuration, sizes, shell or pad construction, heads, hardware, module, triggers and connections according to the product type. A shell pack may need cymbals, stands, pedals and a throne, while an electronic kit may need a monitor or headphones. Use the specific child category and product specification to confirm what is included before comparing prices or sound.
