Description

Schecter Drum Microphones

Nick Johnston is part of a new wave of guitar virtuosos, praised for his soulful instrumental music. Renowned for his slick legato style, Johnston relies on his signature Schecter Traditional guitar to achieve his unique tones.

Based on the classic S-shape with an HSS pickup configuration, this stunning guitar comes in a vibrant Atomic Frost finish, sure to grab the attention of anyone when you're on stage. Featuring a super-solid Roasted Maple neck, Johnston's own signature Schecter Diamond single-coils, and a Schecter Diamond '78 humbucker in the bridge, this instrument is a high-performance workhorse.

Construction

The Nick Johnston Signature Traditional is constructed from an Alder body, serving as an excellent tonal foundation for the single-coil pickups. Balanced and resonant, this popular tonewood is also known for its strong mid-range, allowing notes to really pop in a band mix.

Paired with a bolt-on Roasted Maple neck, this material guarantees a snappy response and bright top-end. The roasting process removes any moisture from the wood, giving it extra strength and stability. Adorned with a beautiful Ebony fingerboard, this sleek material is super-smooth under the fingers, allowing you to master fast legato runs – just like Johnston!

Electronics & Hardware

When it comes to electronics and hardware, the Schecter Nick Johnston Traditional has an equal share of old and new appointments. While the Diamond Vintage tremolo conveys an old-school aesthetic, the Schecter locking tuners are definitely a more modern, ergonomic touch. In conjunction with the Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut, these tuners guarantee better overall tuning stability.

This gorgeous instrument is fitted with Schecter's Diamond Nick Johnston single-coils in the neck and middle positions. Sparkly and powerful, these pickups are wonderfully articulate with clean and overdriven amp settings, ensuring that all of the nuances in your playing are projected. For extra power in the bridge position, this version has a Schecter Diamond '78 humbucker. The Diamond '78 has a vintage voice capable of producing those classic rock tones you know and love, but can also handle more aggressive, higher-gain styles as well.

Drum Microphones

Drum microphones are designed to capture the power, detail, and dynamics of a drum kit in both live and studio environments. Because drums produce fast transients and very high sound pressure levels, dedicated drum mics are built to handle impact and volume while delivering clear, controlled sound.

Different microphones are used for different parts of the kit. Kick drum microphones focus on low-end weight and attack, snare and tom mics capture punch and articulation, and overhead microphones provide balance, cymbal detail, and a sense of space. Room microphones are often added to capture ambience and depth, especially in studio recordings.

Drum microphones are chosen based on sound character, placement flexibility, and reliability. Whether used individually or as part of a matched drum mic kit, the right microphones make it easier to achieve a balanced, professional drum sound for live gigs, rehearsals, home recording, and full studio productions.

Tom Mic

A tom mic is designed to capture the full body and attack of tom drums while controlling bleed from nearby cymbals and snare. It delivers focused punch, clear tone, and consistent response across fills and grooves, helping toms sound powerful and defined in a mix. A good tom mic makes toms translate cleanly in both live and studio settings, preserving impact without unwanted noise.
