Description

Defined sound, shape & finish

The Sonor AQ2 Series Shell Pack builds on the foundation set by the AQ1 and offers prospective players the chance to craft their own, unique setup with a high-quality maple shell whilst choosing from a range of distinctive sizes & finishes. The 7-ply (7.2mm ply) Canadian & Asian Maple Shell construction is allowed to sing by the new & unobtrusive ‘SmartMount’ that Sonor designed for the AQ series. This is complemented by the 45° bearing edge which minimizes contact between the head & drum, bringing a modern & versatile sound to the shells.

For the player looking to take a major step up into the world of Shell Packs, the AQ2 is an excellent choice to make. With clean, smart looks backed up by intelligent, sound-centric design, the Studio set would be well suited to recording that new EP or taking your band on the road.

The old school White Marine Pearl Delmar wrap finish tops off this minimalistic shell pack very nicely.

Here’s what Sonor Say about the AQ2 Series:

With the AQ2 Series, you can choose out of a broad range of pure maple drums offering the ultimate combination of great sound, setup flexibility, a wide choice of finishes and portability. We offer five standard configurations to start with, all featuring our new 7-ply all maple shell construction (4 plies of Canadian maple, 3 plies of Asian maple). The drums share fittings and finishes, offering the flexibility to mix and match within the whole AQ2 Series. Now you can extend the standard configurations with add-on drums to build your desired setup.

The AQ2 Series drums come with newly designed shell hardware and a new tom mounting system: the SmartMount. This minimalistic yet functional mount has the true German design and engineering spirit inside: optimal sound sustain with a minimal amount of hardware on the drum shell.

Acoustic Drum Kits

Acoustic drum kits combine shells, mounts and supporting hardware into a playable setup for practice, rehearsal, recording or live performance. Compare the number and sizes of bass drums, toms and snare drums, along with shell material, bearing edges, finishes and included hardware. A shell pack may exclude stands, pedals, cymbals or throne, while a complete kit may include some or all of them. Check the exact configuration rather than assuming every photographed component is included. Size, tuning range, room space and the style of music should guide the choice.

Drums

Drums is the main JustDrums category for core acoustic and electronic instruments, including kits, shell packs, snare drums, bass drums, toms and electronic drum kits. Compare the complete configuration, sizes, shell or pad construction, heads, hardware, module, triggers and connections according to the product type. A shell pack may need cymbals, stands, pedals and a throne, while an electronic kit may need a monitor or headphones. Use the specific child category and product specification to confirm what is included before comparing prices or sound.
