The Tama Superstar Classic Maple Shell Pack is one of the finest intermediate kits available today. Punching far above what its modest price-point suggests, this 5-piece shell pack encompasses all of the key ingredients required to form a highly versatile setup.

With a kick, a pair of high toms, a single floor tom and a snare, this shell pack can serve as the perfect foundation for your drum rig. 

Construction

All of the shells in this pack are formed of Maple, a bright-sounding tonewood that offers up a tight response with plenty of mid-range punch. Whether you're a hard-hitter or a more delicate player, the amount of dynamic range offered by these shells is superb, lending themselves to all types of articulation. 

Hardware

From its brilliant construction, this kit suitable for a range of styles, and the new Star-Mount System also ensures excellent resonance and sustain. When playing live, you can therefore be assured that there'll be enough projection and volume to fill even large venues, also helped by the addition of ergonomic Low-Mass lugs.

The Tama L-Rod and Omnisphere tom holder systems are highly respected for their ease-of-use, allowing you to position your toms with great precision.

Superstar Classic once again upholds tradition by raising the bar for discerning drummers—and remarkably—does it while also lowering the price. Drawing on Superstar of the past, its classic TAMA T-shape badge and streamlined low-mass single lugs point to the simpler state of art of the 70's, while the ingenious Star-Mount system and new thinner gauge 100% maple shells eclipse anything in its class.

100% Maple Shells

Our highest priority in producing the Superstar series of drums was sound. The full, powerful character and rich resonance of the Superstar drums were achieved by utilizing carefully selected maple shells and focusing intently on shell molding and the bearing edge shape.

Star-Mount System

The Star-Mount System was developed to increase the resonance of drums. This new mounting system provides support at four points on the batter side hoop of a drum.
The bracket eye-bolts slide to the left and right, so it's possible to prevent the eye-bolts from touching each other even when setting up two toms close to each other.

Low-Mass Lugs

These small lugs are newly designed separate lugs for the Superstar Classic series. By reducing the surface area that the lugs occupy on the shell, a structure that does not hinder shell resonance is achieved.

Tom Holder

TAMA L-Rod and Omnisphere tom holder systems have received acclaim from drummers for over 25 years. These systems offer easy positioning, maximum flexibility, stability and greater sound than standard designs which penetrate the shell interior and can inhibit resonance.

Power Craft II Drumheads

All Superstar's "Power Craft II" drum heads (except Duo snare batter head) ensure a great sound practically right out of the box! Ring mufflers on bass drum heads remove the need for extra internal muffling.

Claw Hook

These claw hooks stabilize the wood hoops on bass drums and feature built-in rubber lining which helps protect the wood and maintain tuning even during long performances.
