Description

The Zildjian S Family Dark 18 China Cymbal is a must-have addition to your drum kit if youre looking to inject some raw energy into your sound. With its explosive trashy tone colours this china cymbal is tailor-made for landing big hits and accents that will make a bold statement in your music. Featuring a lower-pitched sound the S Dark China provides a unique sonic character that stands out from the rest of your cymbals. Its randomly hammered construction adds extra trashiness to its tone giving it a gritty and aggressive quality that is perfect for genres like rock metal and punk. One of the standout features of the S Dark China is its shorter sustain. This means that the sound quickly dries out allowing you to create precise and punctuated accents in your playing. Finished in a dark natural finish the Zildjian S Family Dark 18 China Cymbal looks just as great as it sounds. Please Note: You may notice colour variation across your S Dark cymbals. Their unique look is from a custom coating that is individually hand-finished by Zildjians cymbal craftsmen. This process allows no two S Dark cymbals to look identical – making your cymbals unique to you. Any aesthetic variation from the hand-finishing process still delivers a consistent sound profile.

China Cymbals

China cymbals provide a distinctive, cutting accent with a contrasting edge and fast response. They are available in different diameters, weights, profiles and finishes, from compact effects models to larger cymbals used for powerful crashes and dramatic transitions. Compare the intended role, stick response, sustain, volume and how the cymbal will sit beside the rest of the kit. Check whether the product is a single cymbal and whether a suitable stand, boom or felt is required. A China cymbal is an expressive colour, not a replacement for a balanced crash or ride.

Cymbals

Cymbals add accents, timekeeping, colour and dynamics to a drum setup. This category includes hi-hats, rides, crashes, splashes, Chinas and packs, each with different sizes, weights, profiles, alloys, hammering and finishes. Compare stick definition, wash, sustain, response, volume and how the cymbal will blend with the kit and musical style. A cymbal’s sound also depends on mounting and playing technique. Check the exact type and diameter, and remember that cymbal stands, bags and felts may need to be purchased separately.
