Description

JustDrums are excited to introduce the Ludwig 14 x 6.5 LM405C Acrolite Snare Drum by Ludwig Snare Drums Snare . Ready to be delivered to any location in the UK. The Ludwig 14 x 6.5 LM405C Acrolite Snare Drum is a re-invented snare drum in its original beauty. A 1.6mm seamless aluminium shell provides an incredibly versatile sound and an aesthetic that fits perfectly with any drum kit and style of music. Add the Acrolite to your kit and indulge in the sharp dry tones cutting through your mix with a sparkling treble response. The shell is only the start. The 2.3mm steel triple-flanged hoop allows the drumhead to vibrate as freely as possible while also providing a great stick surface for rimshots and cross-sticks. The thicker 2.3mm hoop subtly dampens ringing overtones from the head to focus on the magic that lies beneath. The twin lugs reduce physical contact with the shell itself ? minimising any restriction to its movement and maximising on the beefy full-bodied tones. Finally the P88AC Throw-Off is simplicity itself. It provides a smooth no-nonsense action and world-class control over your snare wire sensitivity. The Ludwig 14 x 6.5 LM405C Acrolite Snare Drum is the complete package marked with its blue/olive badge. This badge means Acrolite. Acrolite means quality.

Drums

Drums are the rhythmic backbone of modern music, providing pulse, energy, and structure across countless styles and genres. From acoustic drum kits and marching drums to hand percussion and electronic systems, drums are designed to be played physically and expressively, responding directly to touch, technique, and dynamics.

Acoustic drums are built from shells, heads, and hardware that work together to shape tone, volume, and sustain. Different sizes, materials, and tunings allow drummers to create sounds ranging from deep and powerful to tight and articulate. Electronic drums expand this further by offering volume control, sound variety, and integration with recording and digital music systems.

Drums are used in live performance, recording, education, and practice, making them one of the most versatile instrument families in music. Whether played softly or with force, alone or as part of a full band, drums play a central role in driving rhythm, supporting musicians, and shaping the feel of a piece of music.

Snare Drum

A snare drum provides clarity, backbeat, and definition within a drum kit, acting as the main voice for timing and accents. Its tight head and metal snares create a sharp, responsive sound that cuts through a mix, making it essential for groove, dynamics, and rhythmic punctuation. The snare drum controls feel and expression, allowing drummers to play everything from soft ghost notes to powerful backbeats that drive the music.
