The Tama Club-Jam Pancake 18” 4pc Shell Pack is a compact drum kit created by Tama. Whilst possibly one of the most compact and transportable kits on the market, this kit can certainly pack a punch. The club-jam pancake kit consists of an 18” x 4” bass drum, a 10” x 3.5” tom, a 12” x 4” snare drum and a 13” x 3.5” floor tom. Boasting a vintage look, this stunning kit combines all the features of a vintage drumkit with a contemporary sound to produce this modern and convenient kit. The most notable feature of this kit is the maximum shell depth of 4”. This delivers efficient storage and transportability – ideal for the gigging drummer. Due to its small size, you no longer need to worry about fitting on to small stages or squeezing your kit into the van. Regardless of size, this kit is durable, withstanding even the hardest of hits to deliver a quality sound each time. Simply perfect as a kit to gig with or for any drummer wanting a secondary kit.

What Does JustDrums Music Co. Think? 

The Tama pancake kit comes with ultra-shallow drum shells combined with a cut off shell design. This design allows you to stack your drums within each other, whilst providing a nice balance of dry drum tones and a perfect level of sound. Complete with a hairline black finish to achieve a unique look and character, the classic wood bass drum hoops ensure a vintage look. Whilst the bass drum is extremely shallow compared to conventional bass drums, this 18’’ x 4’’ drum still manages to deliver punchy yet responsive tones. The Pancake kit is constructed from 100% poplar shells to guarantee a large range of tones with a varied tuning range. The poplar construction provides soft highs and mid-tones with a warm low end to deliver a smooth drum sound. Producing an element of durability, the poplar shells add to the quality of this kit ensuring it can withstand bumps and knocks along the way.

How will my drums be delivered?

All starter drum kits are delivered in the smallest number of boxes. They will be packed inside one another and will need assembling. Starter kits are always delivered without the heads & hoops attached. This isn’t something to be intimidated by, it’s the basics of drum assembly, and is good practice to get a better understanding of your new kit! The heads will then need to be tightened and tuned. Using the drum key provided, rotate all the lugs clockwise to tighten, and anti-clockwise to loosen – simple!

You can hear from the video that the stock heads on the kit sound great and the floor tom sounds lovely and full. Just make sure the stands are at the right height, and the kit is comfortable to play.
