When developing the sticks Thompson had a specific design in mind. He wanted a longer stick that was to be as light as possible. The sticks are constructed from hickory wood the most popular widely used wood in drum sticks today due to its incredible resilience and durability as well as its responsiveness and natural classic feel. The stick itself is longer than most drum sticks at 17 in length and is only .520 in diameter. The thin stick combined with the extra length produces a agile lightweight drum stick that accentuates intricate detailed rhythms whilst still being able to deliver power and speed when necessary. The stick features a long taper offering further agility and a balance thats weighted slightly towards the rear of the stick. This allows for easier ghost notes and snare rolls.
